Buttermilk Pancakes Video

The perfect buttermilk pancake recipe that results in the most fluffy and tender pancakes.

Since I started sharing some of my recipes in video form, I knew that one of the most important ones to add to my growing repertoire would have to be Buttermilk Pancakes. I make this so often for both my immediate family – my husband and boys love it, my siblings and parents, who have been enjoying this breakfast staple for at least 15 years and also our overnight visitors, who get to have breakfast when they are staying with us.

Pancakes are such an iconic breakfast; they are loved by both children and adults, picky eaters and foodies. I love that they reheat really well, so you can make a double portion and keep them in your refrigerator or freezer and then reheat in the toaster. This way, you can have a treat throughout the week, not just on the weekends. With all the tips that I share, you can have perfectly flavorful, golden brown and fluffy pancakes.

Buttermilk Substitution:

If you don’t have buttermilk on hand, you can easily substitute with milk and vinegar/lemon juice. Pour 1 1/4 cups of milk into a bowl, take out 1 Tablespoon of milk and replace it with a Tablespoon of plain distilled white vinegar or lemon juice. Allow it to stand for 5-10 minutes, stir and then use in the recipe instead of buttermilk.

Photo is phenomenal! Video is on point. I learned that you can use the lid to level powder on a spoon:) one less butter knife to wash! Best pancake recipe!

I love how simple your video is, and how you don’t overdo it with fancy voice-overs. It’s so nice to watch you be so comfortable in your videos. You are looking well, I hope you are feeling well also. I know it’s been long journey with your recovery. We actually have your recipe printed out and in my recipe binder, we use this recipe a lot. God Bless you. Hope you can make more recipes.
One recipe that used to be on your blog was the “:Russian Blini”, I remember having trouble with it and many others commented the same. It used buttermilk also, and I think it was something about heating it up for that recipe, and adding baking soda. If you know what recipe I’m talking about, can you please make a video of that? Thanks

Thank you so much for the kind words, Oksana. I’m so happy you enjoy these videos. I enjoy watching these types of videos myself, so I am glad to know that you do too:).
I took the recipe for the Russian Blini off, since so many were having issues with it. Maybe I will make a video in the future, since I still make it all the time for our family and we love it.

Made these over the weekend. kids loved them. I have a question though, when making double batch, and the recipe calls for baking soda and baking powder, would I double that too? Thank you for such great recopies!!
