Homemade peanut butter is so easy and quick to make in your food processor. It turns out really creamy and smooth with no additives, just peanuts.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb roasted, unsalted peanuts (shelled and papery skin removed)

1/8 teaspoon salt (optional)

Instructions

Place the peanuts and salt in the food processor. Turn it on and let it process, until it becomes a smooth and creamy consistency. Scrape down the sides of the bowl every so often.

At first, the peanuts will look like tiny crushed peanuts and eventually, start to have a wet sand consistency, slowly starting to clump together. Eventually, the peanuts will clump together, then have a crunchy peanut butter texture. If you like it this way, you can stop at this point.

If you like peanut butter that is smooth and creamy, keep processing the peanut butter. The longer you keep mixing, the smoother it will become.

Store the peanut butter at room temperature, for shorter storage times and in the refrigerator if you want to store it longer.
