This Green Goddess Salad Dressing is a creamy, tangy dressing packed with fresh herbs and garlic. Quick to make with pantry staples, it’s perfect for salads, sandwiches, wraps, or as a veggie dip.

Green Goddess Dressing-11

Making your own salad dressings from scratch is one of my favorite kitchen hacks. Not only does it cut down on the clutter in my fridge, but it also guarantees a fresh and flavorful dressing every time. Gone are the days of dealing with half-empty, expired bottles of store-bought dressing. Homemade dressings are incredibly easy to make and taste so much better than anything you can buy off the shelf, plus you get to control exactly what goes into it.

This Green Goddess Salad Dressing is a perfect example of how simple and delicious homemade dressings can be. With a base of creamy, tangy goodness and packed with fresh herbs, garlic, and lemon juice, it’s a flavor-packed addition to any salad. It's not just for salads, though—you can use it as a dip for veggies, a mayo substitute in sandwiches, or even as a tartar sauce alternative. The best part? The ingredients are pantry staples, so you can make this dressing anytime you want without the hassle of a store-bought bottle.

Ingredients

½ cup buttermilk

½ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup sour cream

1 Tablespoon lemon juice

1 garlic clove, minced

½ cup fresh parsley

What sort of salad(s) do you use this dressing in? I tried a simple lettuce salad and did not like the combination. The dressing itself is very good though, so velvety smooth, I could just eat spoonfuls of it!

I serve it with many kinds of salads, Marina. I do use it with lettuce salads, but in most cases, I add many other vegetables to it too, like tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, radish, etc. It also goes well with other toppings like shrimp, chicken, croutons, hard boiled eggs. It's also great to uses as a dip with fresh vegetables. Since it's a creamier dressing, if you do use a simple lettuce dressing, I would recommend tossing it so that it just lightly coats the lettuce. I hope that helps. Of course, like with any food, it's really a matter of taste preference. This is just what I like to serve it with.
